Sukaina Dada is an occupational therapist and Ph.D. Candidate in Critical Disability Studies in the School of Health Policy and Management at York University. Sukaina’s research examines the narratives of Syrian refugees with disabilities and their families in Canada. She is the founder and executive director of SMILE Canada – Support Services, a registered Canadian charity that supports racialized, children and youth with disabilities and their families.
In her role as an executive director, Sukaina provides strategic direction and vision to SMILE Canada – Support Services. Sukaina oversees all of SMILE’s programs and delivery. This includes a close evaluation of all the programs and projects ensuring they are transparent and in-line with the stated mission and goals of the organization.
